The only remaining day of the work week for some people who have a Monday to Friday job, I go to a class. I was not sufficiently recovered to sit up write, putting what little thoughts I had in order. You will notice a gap in the daily diatribe delivery, and this I have to say sometimes happens. Never fear one of my dear and gentle readers will poke me to see if I am still breathing, and away we go, to type, again.

OFF I go thrice weekly to boot camp. Our last leadership, had us swinging kettle bells for the hour class, we have now moved on. She even went to California to learn MORE about core. Yes indeed preparing oneself for the onslaught of summer cleaning to come. There have been leaders of the pack before, many of them BUT this leader of the pack is this little bitty thing. With a Mona Lisa smile as she writes on a HUGE white board, all the elements of torment we are to perform for the 60 lesson. People who think that a minute goes fast have never done a plank.

Our depurative leader, in fact works out with us. She is able to regulate the excises for individual requirements. None of this cracking the whip, it leadership by example!. When in fact, I am off course, lost, as we often have to do the inventory, say three times, per class, each excise within several times, then each appendage several times. Midway thru the class, breathing goes astray, and that is supposed to be involuntary.

I seem to lose my ability to tally, just where I am. Reality is not one of my core strengths’ to begin with I have to say. Then somewhere in the middle of the class I forget just what the excise I just did. Looking to my compatriots to see if they remember and they are not in any better shape. I just look to see what leadership, gliding thru the room, is demonstrating, just agoing, at the somewhat moderate pace, regardless of what I have just done, join her, at what she is doing. I have to say my style is full speed ahead then drop. Thank God,dess for water, that is the only way to break.

The place where we partake of this insane workout is covered in mirrors, wall to wall, floor to ceiling. You can see your self coming and going without much effort. There is a place where I like to stand, where the giant mirrors join together, and by some miracle one can be feet slimmer and taller. The intense individuals, in very good shape, stare at their eyes and work out. While there are some, in the class who face the stage, a place in the olden days where the instructor instructed, complete with leg warmers and big hair. But these days are gone, the little bitty thing, moves amongst us and straightens the weary, encourages the jaded, and promotes merriment. You cannot hear any of this, as there is loud music, very loud discordant with a HUGE beat, beating away.

The class in the middle of the week the cardio was 2 minute bike rides, where we positively were lazy about climbing on the stationary bikes placed in the corner with the clock on the floor. Why is the clock on the floor, my dear and gentle readers ask? To time ourselves.

Friday we skipped, starting on one leg for 50 then later after say working our core, flipped and folded over a bosu, jump on the other. One fellow, did a one legged double under, twice. I am not even sure what that is, but the boys in the group were impressed. The skipping increased to 100 or for the sake of the story 200. Then we got to start again literally cycling thru the catalog of arm leg and core movements. There in the mirrors for all the world to see, your front going one way and your backside going another.

LAB rats we have all become too. The annual program to Labour Off Bulk the once a year, plunge of calories. We commenced and by the third class, there were not enough calories in the air to support a mouse. Hanging off, staggering around, sweating and swearing in slow motions. The high fives are exchanged to signify the end of the class and exchange encouragements to return one postulates. To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.
