Eyeballs were the only thing just about that got the workout. One for the times past books. Boot camp canceled. ! Not that is was difficult to maneuver on the streets with snow past your boots, You could get out of your driveway as they plows did not start up until the worst was over. But the day itself had been cancelled in favor of the storm. It got a late start and never did whip itself into a frenzy. The neighborhood did not disappear. That is usually what happens in a nor’easter. This storm, the snow, was light and fluffy, for about 12 hours gently fell down. Weightless and feathery and masses of it. All and sundry, here in the big little city, hunched in their homes, for the duration. The plows were not plowing. The guests were not flying. Plunked in the place they were meant to fly out of. No transportation working except for shanks mare.

Walking in the storms is one of my favorite occupations and Lucy’s too. OFF ! we went, for a wee walk, with super dog, There was not a sound, nor another soul. Lucy was leaping, running, and to celebrate, ate something lifeless out of a snow bank.

I have over the course of many years discovered that dogs like to do this. They are uncomfortable, heck I am uncomfortable. Why ? my dear and gentle readers ask, simply put the smell, stench the odor ! When I finally turned off the screen and did get to bed, very behind schedule indeed, as I was in a cocoon of absolutely no sensory input but the display, the farthest away point in the room was not far enough. They were to say the least dreadful, awful and horrendous. DDFs (to clarify: Dead Dog farts the dog not being dead but what she found and obviously ate was. ) The timing could not have been worse, all that and more, while watching manners gliding across the screen that have not been seen since.

OFF I went on a binge watch and ate peanuts. (never again glad the package is gone) This is a new phenomena that the younger readers of the diatribe may know of. Older readers with grandchildren and jobs may not have tucked themselves into a snow fort of blankets and the like and disappeared. Magic. This is where you watch from beginning to end hours of shows. That is what I did. I watched the last season of downtown abbey. I have the bloodshot eyes to prove it. I time traveled in my seat in any manner of ways, costumes, times, and the check on the boxes of the plot as they winded down. Done and dusted as they say.

Most of the time they moaned about not having enough staff and having to economize. I be familiar with of what they speak. I am usually wound up down and around with the fatigue of it all . BUT the lifestyle ! The envy of all those unfamiliar with the tasks and mountains of work, all while smiling. Very Edwardian. While the screen displayed attire and pale faces. I did mange to brush the dog first, then vacuum the first floor. I am about to go and tackle the way INN, shoveling is at hand. I did a load just for some fresh air, after having had a storm dinner party down the street, with my neighbors’ to left that are very very right. Back I came determined to finish it off and did. Now to walk Lucy and return the cinematic feats. Advice is like snow – the softer it falls, the longer it dwells upon, and the deeper in sinks into the mind.
