It snowed in Newfoundland, a HUGE airplane crashing snow storm. We missed that pleasure, the snow storm not the crash, let me quickly add. In fact, we are proceeding in the opposite direction, to the summer of temperature summit. I have to interrupt myself, to let you know, please note: it is predicted here in the big little city to go to a high of 19/70 degrees. Halleluiah! Which while not being unheard of, this leap in temperatures, it is and has just gone along with the most modest of winters. Spring it appears has bounded, leaped, and jumped into the next season, summer. This is the kind of day one wears a muddled up wardrobe, not that I need any help with that. Boots for the mud and shorts for the sun. The most Canadian of tan lines. One that stops mid calf as the wellies are needed to get thru the paths on the walk with the dog, while she is on the look out for the beavers or the badgers. Any animal it seems that starts with the letter B.
This is a entertainment changer, yes indeed,. Out of the basement, (one quick trip to find shorts and summer tops) into the yard, to sweep up leaves gathering in the garage, blown in by winter winds, left there, in the onslaught of cold. Into the backyard, yes indeed, to check, to inspect, the tulips which should, if Lucy has not dug them up (she LOVES digging.) They if you remember did not show themselves until June last year. This you will note is a month ahead of the program ~ Rhubarb, the first fruit of spring should be on its way up! Stay tuned!
Boot camp is gonna kill me. The debate to go or not to go, (sorry Shakespeare) started immediate after the last class finished. I have to make a clean breast, usually my dear and gentle readers, pleasze note, that the standard operating procedure for this deliberate debate, is a 3 o’clock start for a 6p.m class. The prolonged decision was to go. I reflected I would not do any arms. WHY? Six years I have been doing this. WHY?
I put in plain words to that plan and I could not, would not, do any more arms.
Citing I could not get out of the tub, after the last class, to my diminutive leader, my diehard little leader. She snickered, she laughed and OFF we went to do SUPPLEMENTARY and additional, for the love of God,dess. MORE bouncing to warm up, on bosus. This is an area that is sadly lacking I have to say, usually we plunge into flys, and triceps with out much thought, let alone warm up. This the hunks of plastic were in line, a line, think moguls on a ski hill.
OFF we went, following the intrepid leader. First in one direction, then a quarter turn in another, with lunges, skipping, and some twice. After the bosu we had 30 of this that and the other thing. Upper limbs mostly. I am now not only sore in my arms but it appears that my legs will not cooperate either this morning, without some twanging and grumbling. Standing, I have to say is an achievement. Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow. Helen Keller Lucy and Moi
