I happen to glance at a flier of a drug store that I don’t usually patronize. I have to say that changed. WHY gush my dear and gentle readers. EGGS, I cry in response. I would point out that this is a frequent food source in a bed and breakfast. This is in contradiction to my first statement I also must confess. EGGS there are usually $1 less than anywhere else unless a grocery store is having a sale. WELL ! imagine my surprise when I saw that the sale price was even lower for only two days, that being today and tomorrow. I thought I must go now, as I will not remember, being a woman of a certain age.

There were other items well below cost that I happen to place in bag in a frenzy to save. While in the check out line, I observed a lady coming back into the store, to get her money back and had in hand English muffins at a nominal price. OFF I ran, they too went in the sac as well. I saved lots of money let me tell you.

Before the saving of the eggs however, the indicator light for gas in La Tomato was flashing. Excitement reined, E! E! EEEEEEEEEEEE. I noticed this situation as I pulled in the driveway before the eggs but after the dog food. If I did not get gas NOW, I might not ever get out of here, which is a constant hope these day I will admit. OFF ! the hound and I went, thru traffic praying for green. Zipping thru the back streets, so as not to stop. Montreal race car driver, has nothing on moi.

I don’t know how long there has been a reminder at the bottom on the mile long paper receipt for previously purchased groceries, but you have to take it, the receipt along, as proof of purchase. OMG more excitement, I had it in my wallet, I can hardly stand it!

I remembered this offer and remit. Basically free food! One giant caveat, my teeny tiny car had to be basically barren of gas. To get the 5,000 and you read that number correctly, bonus points, the minimum fill up was $40. Several minor miracles occurred of which I know you are just fascinated to find out about.

It had to be timed perfectly. La tomato’s tank would only hold $40 if I pushed the car into the station, on EEEEEEEE. The tension! Confirmed with the attendant that the Free food campaign is still going on.The Tomato is stuffed to capacity with $40.10 thus receiving, the positive stimulus for EMANCIPATED groceries. La Tomato has only had one brand of gas, will see if we can get around on it, as I have learned and usually the hard way, you get what you pay for. I also recently received four coupons for free ice cream, after having indulged and found bits of plastic. I may never have to fund food again. I purchased a lotto ticket just in case.

Lucy P and I had a productive morning, as we were trying to get to the literature festival held yearly over the big little city. ( I learned that my words are copyrighted, at a composition lecture yesterday. I am putting the city official on notice, when they try to use my term for the big little city in future advertising! But I digress.) We wound around the city streets, and hopped into the car upon our return, to fill another tank, which is one we knew about in advance.

I received a scanner for free. Thus had to have one of my computer guys over to install it. The printer, was out of ink. To pay one of the computer guys on my team, I need to print off the invoice. The little container of orange was flat out, that was deposited to be picked up when the tires are changed. Bonus, back we came with dog food for the old girl. They too have incentives for purchase. I was of belief, supported by a veterinary, we would not make it to the last free bag of food. I happy, nay, ecstatic to announce, we have long gone by that bag and are now in the line up to get another one I think in probably 2018. Other ways to save money on vitamins were to call yet another pharmacy for Lucy’s Green lipid mussels. They will not be encapsulated, thus saving money, to be received next week, 100 grams, of the stuff along with her digestive enzymes. I have been assured that she will live forever.

The author did not make it to the festival, but wore a raincoat just in case. The changing of the guard takes place this afternoon, of tires. The book I was not intending to read will come in handy while I wait. Obesity in children is growing out of control. A big part of this is economic. Fake foods are more affordable. It’s enticing people to eat more because they think they’re saving money when they’re really just buying heart disease. Jillian Michaels. Moi and Miss L.P
