The roar of the cycles, the hugs from the crowds. The 11 of them were off in search of the post office. How my dear and gentle readers ask did they all land on my door step? The short version, was the replacement bike from the dealer, broke. They travel in packs these cyclists. Ordinarily guests stagger in. Not this crew, their accomplishment was they found a place that was willing to accommodate them. That would be moi.

18 places, they claim had turned them away. The big little city was full, they found out. I could and did get them inn! Bodies to the left of me and they wanted a 6:30 breakfast. The other couple who remained observed in amazement, as breakfast was served, showers taken, apple cake eaten, gallons of coffee consumed. All that accomplished, they climbed on the machines with two wheels returned to Ohio, via Bangor. There were a record amount of towels on the line, 17 for all of them. The remaining couple kept theirs as they were staying another night, and departed this morning with peach cake made with the apple cake recipe, as the peaches were harder than the apples I have stored in the fridge.

UP and at it once again. Apple cake, french toast,  as I had Quebecois here, they amazingly enough did not partake of the baked beans in maple syrup. Back they went in the fridge, the beans not the guests you will be pleased to know. Another full house, fed and watered, always a relief. There was just one other woman on the premises. (and Lucy of course) We had cousins, and couples and a man here from Montreal. This weekend is a tournament of the hockey sort, with scouts and the like.

BIG rain is in the forecast. I being organized, got the furniture cushions back into the outbuilding, where they might get stored for the winter. Possibly not this early, but you just never know.

The pride parade went honking past, given it was raining on it, they took every kind of truck imaginable in the South Eastern area. Fired them up and started, placed them in line on Main Street. I do believe there were more people in than watching this year. They did make up for in ebullience I have to say on the klaxon front.

The other honking of late was the first of the Geese migrating, so soon. Lucy is much improved, her limp lightening. We did a big city walk, almost in the cold, which she does well in given her fur. Get someone else to blow your horn and the sound will carry twice as far. Will Rogers Moi and Lucy P
