The storm did not appear to be much, just an excuse on a Friday night to stay home. Roads were to become a bit slippery, and that was the extent of it. Flashbacks’ of the last years winter of white, now they happen more frequently among the citizenry of the big little city. These are proving to be a flare in the pan. Did this stop me from hitting the grocery store and preparing for the nor’easter? Purchased PINK ! winter tulips’ as a must have for mental stability. Also on the must have list those chocolate covered peanuts. This winter is the polar opposite of last I have to mention. SO OFF! I went into the grocery store, there was no snow falling or otherwise, or for that matter, people in the store. Then WHAM ON BOTH COUNTS. The sky is falling literally and people were like poultry without its head.

It was a near miss I have to tell you. One can never tell just when you will be socked in snow fort watching a mini series or two. As such, we, Lucy in the back seat of la Tomato, raced as fast as we could, to the rental store that has JUST opened. Mere seconds late, delayed by impulse buying, just after the grocery shop. I missed by a minuscule, microscopic, a mere 60 seconds! The downtown abbey series, and the fellow only took the first disc for the love of all that is holy.

I obtained a new series but Scot, this time mystery. Rebus, the main character. Not only were his actions impossible to follow, his accent had a incomprehensibility to it that made it difficult to comprehend. We made an executive decision to jettison that series of winter watching. We are continuing to follow out of sequence the Doctor series that is phobic to blood. The chap at the rental palace explained they had miss filed the discs but if I just took these, I should be straighten out. HA Some of my long time readers have been waiting for that for a long time.

Then, OFF we went to the OPERA which took us to the live to the Met in the Big Apple. The drama, the screaming, the lights, the costumes, the roar of the make up, the smell of the crowd, the cameras, the audience, was fantastic. A rock concert for old people with popcorn. What more could a girl as for. NEXT the singsong version of the Sound of Music followed by, a night at the comedy festival thrown in for good measure.

Boot camp was incomprehensible as well. The END of the venous class, before the storm we had a burpee challenge. Horrible. Just how many could one do in five minutes Others did upwards of 65 or 89. I did 29 and lived. The factor to keep in mind that is very very important, is to keep going and don’t stop. This was an important lesson for the beginning of the week class.

We played cards. I do not play cards, no. never. The diminutive leader wrote out things like full sit ups, jumping jacks, burpees the first of the list I noticed straight away. ( I had worn proper undergarments just old and stretched somewhat similar to myself I must admit ) Each had a number from one to say 10. Pulled a playing card and there on the card was the number that was to be multiplied. Math never having bee a strong point, this was the most horrific class of all time. We had to not just count but multiply as well. We given the task of 90 sit ups then pulled another for 18 back to back. Lets talk shall we of arm raises to the tune of 70 at a time. I am soooooo sore, BUT my duty is to my readers and here I am, tea in hand whining away to you my dear and gentle readers, In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years. Abraham Lincoln & Moi
