While I wait for the hordes to descend, to reimburse me for staying here at the bnb. I have been scouting out the stores, only with discounts of wild amounts of money. The signs on the store doors say up to 60% off. I never get 60% off but a girl can have a hallucination or two. I did however get a BOGO. Get one, if you can find yer size, and another one for less, or two for the same price, you know, tricky discounts. I SEE the SIGNs and I go into my fav warehouse. There as I had mentioned maybe to you all, my dear and gentle readers, that I wanted to purchase ski pants. Or that I at least have skis that are 25 years old in the basement that have not been unwrapped for at least that long. Thus one of my excuses for not going skiing is about to be terminated. That and there is NO snow to speak of.
I was supposed to be taking the dog for a walk down by the river, in the opposite direction of the usual way of the walk. Dressed alluring winter dog walking attire and several layers of it. Always good to try on NEW clothes with that many layers on. I soldered on, leaving Lucy to wait in the back of the car, to watch the other partici-pants of salesmanship, enter and leave the store. THUS putting the pressure ON, making my shopping trip, very abbreviated. I have to say, and when have I ever not said anything? I sweat trying on the pants just about as much as I do at boot camp but I digress.
There were two pairs waiting for me. So I purchased them, getting two pair for the price of one. I think. They were however, for taller girls than I. Three inches to be frank. The seamstress was to next, needless to say, the price I paid to have them professionally worked on, I had a cuff put on to prevent snow from entereing up my leg, and that ate up the savings BUT I will look like I know what I am doing on the hills. Too bad in a fit of downsizing I gave away my parka designed for such matters and possibly the hatmittsboots.
Did I mention I also saved a lot of money on sunglasses? Yes I am now a total trended person, albeit for last year. While looking at and deciding just what color tulips to purchase, I was side tracked by yet again, by yet another sign, 40% off ! or was it 50? 60? At any rate, I noticed a TRAY FULL. INN I GO. I have to say normally I use sunglasses to keep the hair out of my eyes, but these blue babies, are too stiff to do that. Purchased them as the total was irresistible, they almost gave them to moi. There was I with Missy Lucy wandering the trails in + 12 weather SUNNY. I actually used them for there correct purpose.
Prior to and before all that, OFF we all went, to the walk at the beach, accompanying us was my neighbor the refugee from across the street. Drove thru the beach town looking for ice cream, after the sojourn beside the sea, as it was warm enough for both. Now all we found were the tin tents huddled together at the edge of the ocean waiting for the real spring to arrive. ( I understand just how the citizenship must have felt about waiting for WW2 to start) anyway no ice cream but a sign for toilet paper, ON SALE! In we turned and long with $7 worth of grapes, I purchased, $69 worth of the stuff. AND dermatological skincare, moisture-zing body lotion complete with SPF 15. ON SALE half off. OMG I need a bank loan. Tins of coffee ON SALE from a previous expedition stored beside the lavatory paper. I did the calculations when I got home, added the transportation costs, and like the pants, not such a immense savings. But OFF the list of life and awaiting the hordes. Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I’m not sure about the universe.” Albert Einstein & Moi
