Snowing here, but not cold. I was scarcely in the door from chasing Lucy down the alley in my pj’s, bright pink under a dark gray parka. The Tea kettle plugged in, in a vain attempt at multi tasking. I was attempting to hurry her thru the newly fallen snow, just enough to cascade into my boots, with no socks, to get back to bed before I woke up.

Back we were from the country, where, Lucy had “the runs.” I was up every hour and have been up thru the night for weeks. Thinking it was better for all concerned, I slept downstairs on a couch, too short by half. The security was a hook and eye latch, and wonky door handle, which during the day worked well. Made a management call, OFF we went to the vets, who was to have Maritime connections. In that Maritime tradition, played “whose your daddy.” The young woman vet was taught by my cousin, a professor of anesthesiology at the college. This bright young thing graduated from in 2009. To add insult to injury, and in the hurry to “get respite” lost my mouth guard, the day ware version, and then discovered that forgot my tooth brush and paste.

My friend, with whom I was attempting to rest with, in my sojourn to loose all of the above, claims it was her dog, at any rate, both of them, were up promptly, each morning, at 7 a.m. Turning the TV on. From that time as we attempting to sleep, but were in the same room as the huge colour screen. We watched such riveting things as people cooking for each other and insulting the guests behind their backs. No running water to speak of as the well had problems. I was off the air as my host did not have internet. She can cook, and did she ever.

This trip was purported to be a get away, as here, the kitchen cabinets and the gravel for the basement were ready to be installed. One assumed both these activities to be very dusty, and noisy. To avoid all that racket and the dirt, thought that a jaunt  would be good to visit this friend. The Montreal hosts are cursed, as the renos which should have been finished in December, are no where near completion. Just a tiny example, the carpenters came one weekend and as they had no plans to guide them, took their leave without lifting a finger. The next week, one had broken his leg. The gravel truck, could not get into the alley as there was a car parked where he would need space to turn. Thus I am back in time for all the dust and dirt.

I have not seen this hostess since my arrival she working on a production for Discovery. She did however needed the vacuum and would later drop by for a five minute visit. She asked me upon my return to give this place in Montreal a going over. Thus I hauled the heaviest vacuum around some of the rooms accessible to get the brown paper clean. It was put there to protect the floors. With that done, having seen thru the construction of the roads, a HUGE grocery store. Made my way back to purchase, mostly comfort food. I ate beet chips, and caramel cookies, freaked out at the color of my pee.

I did however, have the foresight, to wash my sheets, prior to the jaunt to the country, printed in 1970’s orange and black cassette tapes. These were, purchased at the Sally Ann down the street, for more than I could have gotten them new. Now to go and purchase a tooth brush. I only have 876 in storage in the big little city. Which I have to say I am remembering fondly. I want to go home. Adding insult to injury, I got yelled at for doing my homework wrong. It had to be me as others succeeded to do her bidding correctly. I am too tired to be impressed with my classes. Not a sex scandal in sight.

Lucy has recovered rapidly I might add, but did that stop Moi? No, last night up at five to read about the drugs for her guts, then and because of that, worried about the brain blood barrier all night “Just give her the antibiotics and go back to bed.” I thought, if i could think. (the antibiotics causes among other things lethargy, which given it was the middle of the night, might be a good possibility.) We solder on, today homework. Three weeks worth as one might a well learn what is being offered. Love to all, quotes to come, still have not really mastered copying and pasting yet. Linda N Lucy
