Now we have to catch up, there are many topic but I am referring to the weather ( I hesitate to mention this as it seems to jinks things in my life but plunge in I must) We will have, in short order, snow, rain, sleet to make up for the fact we have had a wonderful winter. It is only to last a fleeting period and nary a peep out me. (that must be shocking to my long suffering readership I must say.)

We started, yes ! We lifted ourselves out of the doldrums, and dusted. This was inspired by a ally whom, I shall not name, as per policy of the daily diatribe management, 4,3 paragraph 6. She, of long standing friendship, which started back in the days, when straight ahead, full of vigor we were going to change the world. We were going to HELP. ( We are now, well past that expiry date,) We met at work, where we laboured as societal supervisors. We were member of staff at Lost Horizons, a home for wayward children, countless moons ago. That veritable institution is long gone but the friendship remains. (this was also the days when I commuted across bridges and there was nary a twinge of fear about crossing them, but then I think they were just built.)

I have to acknowledge, led me to believe she cleaned out a closet. (This being one of the closets that someone cleaned rather than came out of ) That had been on her list of things to do for a record breaking 10 years. She was so pleased! This inspired moi I have to say. The house was time traveling instead of me. It was in the wrong season, well ahead of the date on the calendar. Then several days later, we got fed up with the spring like conditions, as the dog brought in dirt, sand and soil inn. OFF we went to tidy all that up. I hesitate to mention the bed and breakfast, looked like it had snowed in various places in the house the dust was so thick. Despite the consequences, I plunged in. Whipping rags, and wiping, smearing & spreading the topographical parts of the furniture. And then watered the plants, and like God,dess I rested. Hard to believe. I spent several hours trying not to after all this brush the dog, which is the usual procedures. We did however get her nails trimmed a while back now which I have I am sure reported in copious detail

That brings to a side line of favour, the dog, the veritable Lucy P, the health of hound dog of the house. She, of Golden Retriever breed is doing very well indeed. Her dismal diagnoses, not showing except for some panting and puffing, that seems to correlate with the furnace blowing hot air. (much like the author of these words) We are going into record breaking walk times. A call came, from the owner of a husky dog, Laurence, for a jaunt at a park we have not passed in a while and we were OFF. We have of late in the warm winter temperatures’ gone for our “customary” walks, of an hour, or 5 kilometers which ever came first and several times of late. Her hips looking like knitting needles but stopping neither she nor I. We have phoned friends and neighboors to accompany us in the sunshine wearing only one indoor layer and one outdoor. Outstanding. Know yourself. Don’t accept your dog’s admiration as conclusive evidence that you are wonderful. Ann Landers Lucy P and Moi
