My hooray scope stated for today that “what you say will undoubtedly be bright, gripping, and certainly very interesting.” Every paragraph a lifetimes work. Every webpage imaginable, stating the stars for the day, state just about the same thing. Which I have to say is unusual. I only read about 4 and take an average.
Usually one states one has to go left, and the next right. The third up and you get the drift my dear and gentle readers. Then as a lady of certain age, I forget the pearls of wisdom as swiftly as I have read them. Onto the laborious work of running a bed and breakfast.
The predicament is, commonly and customarily, with or without caffeine, I have not one indication or sign, (it shows I am sure,) just what is going to go flying across the page, or in this case the screen. Out pops the darnest things. This is also done, with cleverness, dexterity, wit, I am obliged to admit. I am at the finish, of my writings of the day, well caffeinated, adding a cadence to the work, one thinks, but starting out is a hazardous thing.
The lack of guests is deliberate I have to say. (In my defense however, this is however my “summertime”) I am taking a “time out” It is said that sleeping, leads to lowering caloric intake. I simply could not do this if there were people about, paying me to stay here. I am as they say a stress eater. Strangers (or even people I know for that fact) living with you cause one, a great deal of nervous tension. Long time readers will know just how weird and wonderful things will get as the rooms fill or not. Thus self soothing includes looking for love in all the wrong places, like the fridge. Combat includes a horrific turn at boot camp to keep the calories burned. The last class, everyone was beat at the end of what looked like a modest list of requirements’ to get thru the class. I barely made it into the bathtub.
Additionally, the lack of guests at the moment leads to flights of imagination. One of the New years resolutions my dear and gentle readers may recall “social life, not social media.” We plunged INN. We have purchased tickets to the sing along version of the Sound of Music, and a night out at the comedy festival. PLUS every book at the library that I put a hold on back in the fall, is waiting for me on the shelve especially designed for such things. Thus leading we hope to book reading. We have paint by numbers and colouring books to fill. There also is watercolour class if I can find my paints.
Soon reality will hit, then back to laundry, the dishes, the dog, the banks, the daily non caloric regime needed and necessary to put the daily crust on the table. The second T day of the week and let us not forget today is recycling day. The huge question is do we take what little we have and hump it down the lane or leave it to freeze in the garage to fill a giant green bag. Decisions, also can cause me great calorific intakes. “In omnibus requiem quaesivi, et nusquam inveni nisi in angulo cum libro.
(Everywhere I have sought peace and not found it, except in a corner with a book.)”
