Time traveling inaugurated for the 2016 year ! Experiencing the first calendar day of a week feeling, yes indeed, the snow day has thrown, the whole thing, into a timetable tizzy. The snow, was reported to have started around 3 in the morning, and in full might by 5 a.m. This reported by the neighbors all round out and about on the street, picking and packing up the white stuff yesterday. We, that would be Lucy P Golden of note in the house, and myself, did nothing more than shovel light fluffy snow, once. Could have done it several times in fact, but climbed back into jammies, after one brief GO!.
Integrated in the GO! as I said, was checking INN on the neighbors‘, out and about. One however hailed me from the comfort of her home, as they were OFF to the boat show in the big grapefruit of north Americas for the weekend. Please note, this was a quite snow storm, the busses were pulled, but the airport was not closed. They were leaving in the snow storm, lucky ducks for another holiday. I had to count on my fingers just how big a weekend. they are taking, thus contributing to another bout of TIME TRAVEL! We peered out of her window as she asked me to keep an eye out for the outlet for natural gas. (My dear and gentle readers would and could complain about mine I am sure, such a prolific writer of sorts, but I digress) We discussed the benefits of empty pipes in the winter, and other assorted subjects, such plant watering. Difficult for the latter to do former.
I must inspect today the snow bank in the front of the house to see if the driveway across was dumped into it. I noticed irregulaties when turning out the lights to hit the hay, last night. Other occupations included, not eating any of the food I had picked up in the emergency pre storm run to the grocery store. In my defense one can never have enough spruced up tomatoes. My intentions for the year, going to HE double toothpicks’ as my dear old mother would say.
I was glued to and hovered around websites’ Reading the most important issues for example “seven thing you must stop doing for your skins sake, what excesses not do over 40.” ( there are not many left, let me tell you) and countless more. I started a British movie, plucked from the library shelves, pre storm, which I could see within the first few frames, was not and did not hit the heights
We did however get into the swing of a snow day after all late in the day. listening to, the beginning of the end of the trilogy from the terrific (audio) book series. The first, in the sequence, I highly recommend “ Shadow of the Wind.” The difficulty with this audio book, as apposed to the first, which they have an enunciation less actor reading the contents into my ears. In this they have a British actor with British accents going on about a book that is set in Franco Spain, in a book store. As a result I was having the time of my life in the jungles of time and space yet again. Started the latest mystery book set in Eastern Townships in a village called Three Pines in Québec. The author is an Anglophone, and that my dear and gentle readers took me home. Where we love is home – home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts. Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr. & Moi
