it is well here, cold, very cold as I will indicate, but have yet another reservation for August. I think the dieing loonie is going to help a lot. The currency for Canada has had predictions failing to 59 cents, coming in fast and furious. This just after it dropped thru the 70 cent mark. The Chinese putting on currency controls, to keep their money at home, and thus any spare change in Canada will be sucked into the stratosphere. I may have to give candy as change like when I was in Italy (that was a long time ago) Getting out my crystal ball I predict, with the dollar as low there will be a lot of guests from the province of Quebec on their way to Isle des Madeline in the St Laurence. The shock of it all is that cauliflower is now $9 a head. Good thing I never eat it. Like the country I am OFF to eat frozen veg out of plastic bags, or better yet tins.
I have to be on my game now as the reservations come in. I have to be very prompt and without delay in putting it in the paper book, the master system to online. I only have four schemes that need updating, as the bedrooms fill for the tourism season. Albeit, slowly, for this time of year. I also have to learn about tags in blogs to capture more readers, separately from my long standing and suffering older readers who have this daily performance delivered to an inbox near them.
We organized ourselves out of our flannel as Lucy had to go the vet, nothing serious at the moment, but that will come. BUTT she had a smell, and that was pungent. One indication is that she chases her tail, other dogs lick, various parts of their anatomy, she my once “wild child“, runs around in circles, somewhat similar to her owner. The circles are smaller, and less, I have to say, again simulacrum to her caretaker. We fed her treats by the handful as she has not lost an pound. To keep her at her fighting weight. Again similar to her custodian.
Her abdomen, when the young Scottish vet took a minute to look at her is very tender. (Hard to hear however) That did not stop the old girl from a short romp in the fresh snow, down at the river. The wind was serious, very serious in its intent to do damage. Today’s romp may be ker-tailed as it is -27 with the wind-chill. We also brushed her and found a very large amount of fur that was hung on the rose bushes for any other animal that may need it. The first panacea for a mismanaged nation is inflation of the currency; the second is war. Both bring a temporary prosperity; both bring a permanent ruin. But both are the refuge of political and economic opportunists. Ernest Hemingway & Moi
