The snow, here in the big little city, is theoretically and hypothetically to start again, this afternoon. The monotonous, tedious, dreary and dull days of winter will continue in more ways than one. Never fear, the forecast has nothing serious in it, a few trifling centimeters. The temperatures in both Celsius and Fahrenheit will rise from being tremendously wintry, to sensibly chilly. The dull tepid skies will clear. All will be well.

I will look back on these days of quiet solitude, with appreciation. (If I can remember them, being a woman of a certain age and all ) I won’t have accomplished a thing, as I find the less you have to do, the less you do. (Dad is spinning in his grave but I digress.) The lists of life languishes, in several places in several rooms. abandoned as not anything is happening. Purpose, aim, gusto, all intentions ’ all misplaced, missing, vanished like the summer guests.

Lounging about is a favorite pursuit. Connecting the dots, is a second leisure activity of late. It is not something, I do well at the best of times, on subjects, people, events or books, is coming back. With and in an absentminded, distracted aha moment or two. Back in the days, before the great sleep, I visions (not those kinds) of masquerades, dressing up and dancing. I had thought I MIGHT celebrate my birthday early. Send out invitations, with a party, break up the winter’s ice, and grip, and that seems like way too much effort. In fact most daily activities, are beyond the pale white skies.

The only activity that keeps beating, along with my heart, and I wonder about that sometimes. Is boot camp and that only just. We did for the sake of and in great transparency, fail to attend in the middle of the week. I have to admit it was a somewhat bigger snow storm, but not massive. I did however attend boot camp last night. The Why nots? And why should I? Started, first thing in the morning with head chatter of nopecan’twont, HEAVING ourselves out of jammies into botshatscoats mitts and SNEAKERS involve great, deal of energy, DON’TCHAKNOW? Just to get there. Starting the car in the cold, is a major event. But I pat myself on the back for even stepping outside. Lucy does too. OFF we go, for another day of jammies, books and exciting British whodunits. Stay tuned don’t touch that dial, the plot will thicken here at the bnb. Hope as they say, springs eternal.
