This is completely my fault. Confused and disoriented these days, in a quest for sleep, crashing around dispensing glucosamine and fish tablets to Lucy while NOT thinking, or we would not have been in this mess. The carpets did need cleaning, now making the blinds look terrible. This now being more difficult, as the towels, that would be the dog towels recently taken to the shelter are gone. I used to clean them with, so much for downsizing. I digress.
We were back at the vet, taking her majesties bowel sample inn early in the morning. Returning later in the day, spending only a small fortune to recover the illusive as yet, firm and bouncy bowel functions. A trip early in the weekend, that would be the first S day morning to receive doggie specific pro-biotics, which by the way is simply added to her food.
The first work day of the week indicated that that was not enough back to the vets we went. It seems,”slippery elm” added for her irritated bowels, but there was no infection. Thus confirming I was killing her with kindness. Too many treats.
Liquid, supposedly sweet slippery sap is now in the mix, adding to her concoctions, such a green lipid muscle, fish oil, amino acids and the like. All this to avoid over taxing her liver. It will not take chemicals. Information obtained from the internet purported that the slippery liquid has to be dispensed either before by an hour, food or well after, as it coats the bowel as it to sooth inflammation, to line her irritated intestines. Adding to the confusion, and when is there never enough of that in my life, the dispensing instructions came in Imperial and the syringe in metric. Half of the slippery stuff landed on the carpet in the morning test runs. The rest of her vitamins and minerals thus prescribed go on her food, which she is off of because she does not feel well.
Things on the last walk of the night were starting to firm up. But yet again, she was up thru the night, this is three in a row now every hour again or was it two?. The good news, was last night was warmer, -8. The work day, that would be yesterday, my stupor was of stupendous proportions and could not seem to do anything else. Two of the subsequent days watching in a coma, any excuse, to watch a crazy British family on Netflix. Boot camp, was attended. a waste of time really, stood around and chatted about ice cream, not productive at all, attempting to look like I was doing something. Gossiping was accomplished mostly.
My readers will however will be pleased, in eating more vegetables 28 day challenge. It was interrupted by a marathon of eating over the weekend, but still putting my dots on the calendar more days than not. The goal is to eat more vegs. This does not stop me from eating everything else in sight, up to and including making cookies.
My neighbors in the yellow house, brought over clothes for the Refuges, a cheese Christmas gift for me and a 32 inch TV that was brand new, as his aunt died. I off loaded some of the cookies to him. but first imbibed in a pan full. One has to be aware of the vacuums in one’s life, the black holes. I seem to be one of them. The TV is now sitting on the kitchen table taking up space, a black surface as opposed to a hole. I not sure just what to do with it to be truthful, more to the point how to hook it up…..to the computer to watch crazy British family or films stuffing cookies, into black spaces and vacumes combined.
I spoke at length with an old friend, on the way back from one of the many trips to the vet, and that was extremely pleasant. Her family shenanigans include, three kids, elderly and deaf parents, husband, sisters, you know the drill. She by the way, had a son hit by a car on his skate board last summer. Hit and run and adding insult to injury, no one stayed to help him either. What a society we live in too busy to help a 16 year old in distress.
