January 19th, 2016

One of the many star struck scopes I read prior to preparing the daily diatribe, scolded me about my housekeeping. I have to say, they were correct in their assessment. With nary a guest in sight, dust to dust is my motto, just not when the guests are about.

The first month of the year, and that would be January is a quiet time for me here at the bnb. Everyone, (me included) is dreaming of beaches, and blue skies. The weather, for a winter in Canada is obliging. Near miss of giant storm, another predicted for next weekend and in the meantime we are at -25 with the wind chill

Thus it is the time and In case you thought it was too quiet, the cold calls. I have an advertising opportunity for the huge reunion here this summer. I pointed out to them when the gave me chance to spend my money, that I have only 5 rooms, and the price they were offering was in fact more than I would take inn from the event, they went away to re-evaluate. Never fear they will return with another pitch. You can hear some creaking and groaning of the tourism, currently slumbering here, as organizations are cranking up. My broker that I thought had gone bankrupt has reappeared. Guests will soon be whirling around the province, as the summer starts to perk itself up. The guests will arrive, I be acquainted with the fact they will, experience now trumping anxiety.

I had to turn the furnace up. Which being Gordon’s daughter was difficult to do. BUT have learned, the hard way, you are not saving money, if you have to call the plumber for a burst pipe. SAVE yourself trouble and hard work, heat the place. I have learned yes I have. That and the dog, gave me a dirty look. I have it was warm enough now to take your coat off.

I have been, as I am not cleaning, going to the opera, (still humming) movies, (about the planet Mars great!) read (the latest Louise Penny very good so far) and listened to books, (the sequel to Shadow of the Winds ok) AND many of you will be astounded, watched TV (can you believe that?) Years ago, I will confess, I even watched reality programs, but that giant family has been torn asunder. The intrigue, the family dynamics and there were many and very enticing indeed, and best of all it was not my family dynamics. AND they kept one diverted from my reality show, in a January sort of way. Come to think about it, just why would a man want four wives in any case? BUT on with the show, or in this case the daily diatribe.I am a now after much tooing and froing, a cable cutter and have three ancient machines in the house, all of which work, but do not use. I cut the cord, as guests and myself, except for the big slumber in January, no one was watching them. NOW I watch medical intrigue quarter backing doctors calls from the comfort of the computer. Astonishing eh? I don’t just want to be another cog in the gears of Hollywood. Scott Porter & Moi
