Enormous storm coming up the coast, just hitting Washington it appears, to screw up everyone. According to our local weatherman, it may, or might, or is, going to miss us. Halleluiah. I have been stalking that sucker, like Lucy with a squirrel, with a heart full of dread, as I keep thinking SNOW.
Lest any of you think I am off my rocker, and I have been, I have to admit, although a long time ago.
You may recall my dear and gentle readers of old, last years diatribe, just a going about SNOW. We had in the big little city, 3 meters or 19 feet, take yer pick, of the white stuff in a short period of time, last winter. The rumours, all, it seems to be now unsubstantiated, maybe, possibly, were that we were to have a repeat of last years climate conditions. To date, it is appearing that we have dodged the bullet. Twice so far. I assume it is because the big little city inhabitants, had, as a collective, all breathed a sigh of relief, at the same time, diverting the cloud cover. (you may not want to know what else I believe either, but I digress) It actually has been a very nice winter. Knock on wood.
Boot camp, not quite, but more or less, if the snow doesn’t get me then I will be slayed there. We had a team effort. On bosus, with weights, lifting medicine balls with our feet, passing them to the next in line and back again. High fiving and cheers abounded after that endeavor. That was just the break from the team efforts. There was more, much more, the stations of the cross consisted of three people competing with four or was it three other teams, with the excises grouped into four with four in each panel. Clear? Even with the chill, we were sweating.
Last night, was just quietly horrible. We had to count, everything, leaving no room to chatter. 80-60-40 20-15-10-5-10-15-20 and so on then onto 100-80-60-etc skipping. Up and down the scale. like an opera singer warming up. Looked like a modest little work out. I find it insufferable. WHY you ask? because I know, I just know from experience that I will not be able to move the next day. Ta-da, I have dense & sore muscles, even with having gotten UP the stairs and into the bath last night.. Almost, ALMOst IMPOSSIBLE TO MOVE.
YET I hobbled to the computer to dispatch this discourse, lest you think I am falling down, on the job. (We did, I have to admit get the house shoveled out prior to departure, to boot camp, shamed by the last discourse about the dust saturation here in the bnb.)
Watching myself in the GIANT mirror while my undergarment broke down. THEY are supposed to keep one in place, and really don’t, I have to admit. I digress, and without much thought. (Now, now, you know my mind is just a whirling most of the time) To the main news I did my personal best, in skipping. WAY back in the dark ages, my personal best was 14 skips in a row. NOW and last night, I did 60 without stopping, Talk about at-da! Thank God.dess, I do not have to shovel this year or at least today.
I have fallen down, in the “eat less” category of my new years resolutions‘, thus dragging my mental state, which as indicated earlier in the diatribe is not too stable anyway, to a winter low. WHAT happened you cry~! .The downside, and difficulty in the class however, is ones bodily functions. as my mother would say, I had a build up of “wind” and tooted away while doing bike crunches on the bosu. There I was tooting like a little horn. “Passing thoughts are like passing gas. They both arrive with a rumble, and the bad ones linger a little too long.” Maximus Freeman & Moi anonymously we hope.
