I could have, as I have a bag of lemons, made a bread of that sort. Did I ? NO. I did not want to grate, the zest. Somewhat similar where I find myself this winter. No I have sunk into a coma. I seem to be not coming out of it either. To thwart this, inertia I invited guests to tea and thought I must bake. (there goes my intent to lead a new life, heave a great sigh, I am getting tired of myself I have to say.)

The opening banana breads of 2016, are dreary and dismal fiascos. I have only made 3,467 of the bloody things, while decaffeinated. I thought (there is the problem in a nut shell my dear and gentle readers observe)how much harder can it be while in a coma ? “I can ! and will ! just whip one of these or may be two together.” I thought. Hindsight provides insight. (mark that insight down)

The eggs were cold. the bananas too, fresh out of the fridge. The bananas were diminutive and dry, having been in there for too long it seems. I had not or did not give them one moments thought. For too many weeks. Giving a whole new meaning to a few bananas short of a loaf.

The hand held blender is bent out of shape, similar to me of late but I digress. It is warped, being overheated in the dishwasher, must be menopausal. Some how part A fit into part B, thus managing to connect the parts, similar to connecting the dots, but with electricity. Thus whipped the wet ingredients, still cold ingredients‘, and sugar, into a slurry. In hind sight, (se above) there was not obviously enough liquid to save the day. The only thing I seemed to have gotten right was the temperature of the oven. I checked on them and they loaves seemed to be pallid, needing it seemed extra time in the heat.

The usually moist wonderfully tasty were simply not. They do not look like the standard, dark moist banana tasting mouthful’s of gooeyness. No in fact just the opposite, they do not taste too bad, kinda like a sugar cookie in a loaf pan. Brittle is not what one would usually describe a banana bread to be.

Gallons of tea will be needed to wash these babies down. Which is an excellent thing, as I had found two lady PhD wandering around and invited them to tea. I thought I will make them ahead, and did and just look at the consequences. I also made soup but it appears that I can make that in my sleep.

“If you are cold, tea will warm you;
if you are too heated, it will cool you;
If you are depressed, it will cheer you;
If you are excited, it will calm you.”
