A very pleasant tourism season. Simply wandering along, in the sunshine, then a little rain, and reversing again. I have been translator, for a couple from la belle province, a retired occupational therapist and his wife arriving on a bicycle built for two. They are here for four days, upping their reservation from one to four nights. Neither is practiced or pronounced in English. Breakfast, along with my other duties, there made available functional translation and conversion from English to French and back again. I was so proficient and clever I might add, I ended translating French to the couple and English to the guest.
I had a fiddle playing physics graduate, an English man from Scotland. Whose language skills broached a brogue and no other. He practiced in the mornings after breakfast, much to the chagrin of the neighbors. He did not like eggs. Therefore a change in the menu was implemented. Cereal requests are few and far between. I have not had to bake as much, having less guests, and it seems the company is not interested in the sugary calories. Can’t seem to give away banana bread. An additional first, in a long line of them, running the old bnb, there were complaints of too much food! I burned the raison toast in their honor.
The Scotsman after a two day stay, walked to the train station or was it the bus, and onto la belle province. He was surprised there were people who could not speak English left in this world. In walked an American Doctor of Divinity and his wife, a nurse of long standing. Then discussions ensued quickly as to what to see. when the tides were, alongside subject such as forgiveness and the efficacy of prayer.
The list of life is tripping along with lines thru just about everything, or anything I can think of. Chimney sweeping was organized and implanted. New and improved pic were upgraded on the website. A site visit to upgrade to fiber op. I had to quickly email the computer support, to see if the computer would blow up, a desk top of a certain vintage, if this was done. I was given the go ahead. Batteries chirped and light bulbs changed.
Beach and boot camp both have come and gone. The water being warm now to climb into. Boot camp being held in the shade while we did 100s. Whining, we broke them into groupings of 25.
“In the long dusks of summer we walked the suburban streets through scents of maple and cut grass, waiting for something to happen.”
