Vacant to bursting in three hours, not quite a record but almost. Full throttle, an almost full house, one room spare, when I unplugged the phone late in the evening. There was a record attempt for a family reunion last night at the arena. Stay tuned for that fast breaking news.
The humidity built quite nicely as the evening progressed, the thunder was house shattering, no lightening but was cataclysmically close. There was a spitting of rain but no actual showers.
A note from a guest who had returned to her domicile to let me know her weather conditions and safe return “…home doing laundry and more laundry…all good vacations must come to an end apparently.
We got stuck in Montreal for about 3 hours because of lightening and rain storms in the area. Being Canadians:
Hour 1: heaved sighs and started reading our books/Kobos
Hour 2: couple of people looked at their watches and pursed their lips
Hour 3: one guy from Labrador City (who’d been up since before dawn) looked up from his crackmunicator and said “Come ON” under his breath “.
Lemon bread in the oven, coffee rumbling thru an old fashioned coffee maker. Bread cut, French bread ready to go for a bath in the syrupy egg batter to transform it into French toast, Pain dore, or Fisherman’s toast, depending on your international perspective. One order of oatmeal and yogurt for the lady from Quebec who, does not like a maple syrup delivery system.
There are three couples from Québec, and one from Ontario. The father of male in the latter is my epoch….startling. This is a graduate student, married and on his way in life. His wife working in big pharma.
