As promised the results of summer news here in the Maritimes. The family that landed here in the 1700 had a family reunion, and wanted to go in the history hooks. They fell short of their target. There were 2,000 descendants but Guinness would only accept as true, 934. The women who married and changed their names could not be counted. Back to the stone age we go.
The thunderstorms of late have been impressive not doing a thing to diminish the high temperature at all. The humidity, not a normal occurrence clings like saran wrap. As summer is short, here in the big little city, there is no tolerable form of whining, at all. There was on the porch of the neighbors in the yellow house, an evening of fun and merriment. It felt like being on the Maid of the Mist at Niagara falls.
Cleaning was done at record speed, beforehand, assistance by my right hand diamond in the rough unavailable. Her stellar service, in previous days, set me in good stead, the foundation of cleaning products in its wake. The laundry fried faster in the sun than in the dryer. Lucy was taken for a walk at 10 a.m. as the temperatures’ climbed even higher. She needed frequent breaks with the walk around the block.
The guests except the young couple departed for their fun in the sun, and replaced by an accountant and his girl, who works close to the old homestead in la belle province. They arrived several hours early, making it possible for an escape for dinner. The English couple arrived after a whirl thru the grocery store, timing virtually impeccable. Discussions ensued about Britain leaving the EU. Later the Scots, on the deck visiting their cousins in the yellow house, had a diametric opposite point of view. Both turning to arm chair thumping vehemence to support it.
A seven am breakfast, French toast on the grill with yesterdays lemon bread. OFF we go for another day of fun and adventure. Tthe big box store here just announced that there 6 more months until Christmas, by hoisting the green plastic tree and ornaments in the store.
