June 21, 2017

The Clock of existence marches on, piloting us to and here we are solace day. This 24-hour interval is so long, I was awaken early by moon, and sun in the sky at the same time. One-half of the year 2017 is departed.

Candidly, I have given up all hope of the resolutions competently forgotten, ever coming to fruition. WHY cry my dear readers of long standing! The answer? My basic cognitive processes being what they are, hormone free, aided, abetted and thrashed by forces and fatigue. I will and have to admit my grasp of reality has never been good. Never have I been totally oriented to time and space either. I have learned, at the helm of this little business, I have little control of just about anything. Hope has faded over the years I will admit, just to keep plunging on, like a ship on the sea, albeit in a hurricane. I digress, once more all that to say, this is the longish day of this year. So extended, in fact, I was roused early by moonlight. A magical mix, just a sliver of the moon and sunshine. (A rare event these days.)

Things on the list of life were accomplished, not the obvious, like mow the lawn, (still there) or clean the fridge, (it too is still needing to be done, therefore, was not accomplished.) No what happened was the usual for MOI, the “way off beaten path, may get accomplished some day,” list. The focus being, these days, on other things, typical of my life I have to say. I can say is there was potential, expectancy that maybe someday these things would get done, and it seemed this was the day.

Defeating the purpose, another thing I do regularly I will admit. I thought the discovery of a broken teabag within the confines of the dishwasher, would suffice. Thus, taken to washing the dishes, the pre/post thing continued even after the discovery of herbal magic. That meant a retardation of the velocity of life. With all the water falling, painting, cleaning going on, there were handymen about. They knew, I knew, just how to do this improvement. OFF I was sent, by the lady of the group, while the men polished off the apple cake, coffee and banana bread. She found the serial number within the range of the machine and read them out to me.

OFF to the world wide web in search of instruction. There were, 4590 manuals for this sort of machine. There was not time. The task too daunting, after the brief search. Time was better spent leading the men in battle. “you two men go that way, the rest of you, follow MOI.”  I left the complicated chore (when are they ever simple?) the serial numbers mellowing to the left of me on the desk. Just beside all the passwords to the computer. (Fliers now arrive via the same world wide web, they had a contest to win a car, to lure me in. There is a paint sale starting today at domicile hardware store. “Buy now, tint later.”)

The third set of supporters came to scrutinize the “Fromage Frais” They mentioned coincidentally that they had just cleansed their trap. Leaped up and led them both after the inspection of three floors, to the machine, and within seconds, interrupted only by a potential guest on the phone, who did not book, as apparently the beds were not big enough, for one person. While I was gone, the trap was out, opened and cleaning the insides. (Claiming a random act of kindness award, I am sure) It turns out, that mom had left her gum on her plate, a year ago. It would not go thru the trap leaving a sticky mess .Neither would anything else anymore.

Left over from the clean were professional swipes, and thus, another task accomplished including standing on a ladder to do so, dusting the back poach, not something I thought I would ever get too either. The rose bushes of which I can claim four, were doused with the contents of the dehumidifier, a undertaking not thought of since last year.

I had lunch, soup with the second guest, who also had a run at the stairs. She brought with her, leftover hairspray and hand cream. The first friend had a tour, escorted the girl dog and MOI around the block.

Last but not least, I can claim a good deeds, large and small. While talking on the phone I was distracted by a wallet fallen on the lawn and hurried to red leather. The drivers permit had an address, I could not find the street on any map, paper or internet. I did however find that she was a friend of my Syrian neighbors, (about to move at the end of Ramadan) and took them the pocketbook. The doorbell rings, and a slight Asian lady is standing there, thanking me profusely. It had been on my lawn two hours, not a thing was missing. In these modern-day times we are now Facebook friends. My neighbor to the left was cleaning her fishpond, needing me to stand guard, this is an annual event, in case she slipped into the slime. She mentioned that she has a trailer that maybe the Syrians about to move, may need, while walking Lucy, ran into the wife, who ran to her husband and they ran to the neighbor to the left to make arrangement. Just a little good deed that was.

Starting UP and at it in the moon light I found an email. A former guest wrote, hoping to make a repeat performance. She is a signed up fan of the daily diatribe!! Hurrah! Following the exploits of the water fall with the confines of the house with great interest. Mentioning in fact, she thinks that I had a riveting and interesting life. As a cousin of mine once said, if I did not have bad luck, I would have no luck.

My Horroscope for the day confirms that life is about to change again:
