June 25th, 2017

A soft start to the summer season. Another first, a never before, these firsts are still happening in our 18th year. A guest from Casablanca appeared at the door. HUGE man. Traveled into having an “H“ night. Eyebrows raised, readers carry on with the latest edition of the daily diatribe.

A twosome, from Holland. (the first H btw) had not responded to gentle inquiries via email as to arrival time, had to be called, area code 905. they were in fact minutes form the house, on their way from kayaking in the Bay of Fundy. The she of the couple, studying to be a medical doctor, and he, a researcher in the field of aging and muscular tissue. Of course I showed mine off. The third gentleman was from Hamilton, the second H of the night, this being a huge suburb of Toronto. The first and the last were refugees from the bnb around the corner. The gentleman from Morocco actually was a true refugee. The locks and bathroom situation explained in depth, in reaction to a review about both.

So the day was a patter of typical. Almost unremarkable, the diminutive and mini commented in depth, in these diatribes must be a blur to those of frequent readership, I know I am living in it and it is blurry around the edges. Gallons of cream and were to be dropped on floor thus necessitating another round of the same, were purchased in hopes of guests, and along with it, $20 worth of items not really needed on board. Acquisition, in what in day would have been a three ring binder complete with 300 pages of paper and pockets. HALF PRICE and flashbacks to school made it a justified purchase. What I am going to do or doing with it I don’t know, it is however sitting in the kitchen waiting for inspiration. Corn chips were on sale! And consumed after the pork-chops and mashed potatoes. The tank of the car again flashed empty and we left the wallet behind, which was discovered while trying to make a get away from the grocery store.

No baking needs to be done this morning as there is an apple cake, put together yesterday and not consumed by the guests, some consumed but not by guests. Sigh. Lucy was walked in a downpour but as the day progressed, the day and moods lightened. OFF we go, for another day of fun and adventure, the phone was pulled and my help to clean is unavailable on Sundays now, as the priest has tapped her for vestry. Must go and pick his bones. “Friendship … is born at the moment when one man says to another “What! You too? I thought that no one but myself . . .”
