March 8th, 2016 International Women’s Day TODAY
I hid from neighbor across the streets that helped dig me out of SOME of the accumulation of years. Even though I had stated to him I would continue in this vein, I did not. No the closet & dog towels awaits. I usually keep my pledges, I have to say. Not this time, nope, I stopped, not quite dead in my tracks. The complete and whole thing, my existence as you know it. What cried my dear and gentle readers??? READ ON!
Banging, my head against walls, heaving, hammering, yammering, pushing, shoving, and shrieking. Everything that was not compulsory, like dog duties such as walking. We did not place anything in any bags or boxes or dust. We sat, looking fixedly out the windows, in the office and the living room, test driving the new and improved seating arrangements. We had stocked up on delicious books, resulting and reading a new crime novel series. (actually started inadvertently with the third in the series and did zilch. We talked to old and dear friends, THANK YOU. Uncovered the new library website to be staff centric not patron found and ordered the first two in the series. Managed a meal with the neighbors to the right, had lunch with guest turned friend, returning to nothingtogotoordo. As a result and possibly because of the b12 with folic acid we are improved.
Lucy P, Golden of some repute, persists in astonishing moi. ( I flabbergast myself sometimes too, but I digress.) She and I go off to parks to saunter, stride and walk these days, HOURS at a time, she not wanting to return to the car, as there are spring acerbic SMELLS to be snorted. ( a full year after being given the dreaded diagnoses.)
We had a near escape, I have to acknowledge and divulge. The weekend just past, the sun was out, in full regalia, we are heading into UV index territory these days. OFF we went to the park, where when we were both more juvenile, climbed UP the side of hills and thru the dales. Just was we both were prepared not to do that, so much as stroll, we were caught by the by law informant officers.
Lucy is required to be on a restraint, a leash. There she was unleashed and sitting. Yes all three of us could have caught her as she sat watching the squirrels in the near by trees. Given a verbal cautionary word of warning. We strolled, with Lucy tethered to MOI, back, we, that would be she and I, escaped with her to the car, her in the back seat of la tomato. OFF to the riverfront! (at this point she was NOT happy as she thought the walk was 3,4 seconds long) was uninhabited due to the wind coming off the river. I confessed our sins to the Director of Animal Welfare, she laughed, claming it would be a story here in the diatribe. How right she is. God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, And wisdom to know the difference. R. Niebuhr Moi and Lucy
