We have been intuitionally, intentionally and institutionally time traveling. Yes indeed we are at the phase of the of year, when we are leaping onward. We are weary. All this moving time zones without leaving the comfort of your own home. Here at the bed and breakfast we have people bring all manner of things to do such travelling. We bandy around that hour like we created it. There is the folk intelligence and wisdom that DLS was brought to you by farmers, the first and the second world war, (then it was enacted apparently all year, how could you tell and how could you tell)? AND it seems for the ecological of us, to save energy. All that and MORE.
It is big business. Actually retail big business starting with and wait for a now defunct retail store in Boston. Filenes‘. A vestment store. We all know the unfettered in-vestment sector did in 2008, well this has been going on since 1932 and possibly longer.
Benjamin Franklin proposed it as a prank, a joke, and we fell for it. Here it is centuries’ later, and there is a lobby group, in the Untied States, of retail that want you to have extra time at the end of the day to SHOP. It was proven, that you have time you shop, you will. Now if you are waiting for the hospitability trade to stimulate the economy you have the wrong sector. We want you to catch up on that sleep you are so deprived of.
ANDdidyouknow? Get ready as well as the retail giants, have and are using, face recognition to make shopping more convenient and creeper. “software that detects, age, gender, gaze and emotions could have privacy risks,” ( ya think? )
In 2007 the president of the US expanded DLS time from November to March. OFF we went and we did ever. A few studies have shown an increase in energy consumption, and parents were upset that children had to walk to school in the dark. Since it was done in the 1970s we have increased our demands for energy of all sorts, and children do not walk anywhere. While electricity demand for lighting decreased in the evening, the extra hour of sunlight meant participants of the study, in Indiana are called wait for it, Hoosiers kept their air conditioners pumping for longer each day. In the end, the average household used more electricity after daylight time kicked in.
I rest my case. How did it get so late so soon? Its night before its afternoon. December is here before its June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon? Dr. Seuss & moi
