March 19th,2018 The Closing of one Door?
Here we are at the end of course but at the next jump off point for my life. I thank my dear and gentle readers for the patience while I wandered thru the fog of fatigue, the rambling thru research of all things of benefit to MOI in my third act of life.
OPTION #1! The research I did and I took advantage of you all as I told you at the start of the class to be look into options that appealed to me. I wandered about websites, blogs and U Tube channels the authors announcing they too had retired. There were couples, singles, men and women and their dogs, cats and birds that shopped for vans, RVs and tents that were somewhat mechanically sound but most needing some kind of work. They stripped them down, waterproofed them, built them up. Then they all set sail around North America, to find a place to eventually live and raise a family, retire or expire. One couple lived in a van they converted, he being an interior designer, borrowing water from their work places, showering at the gym and pooping in plastic buckets. Their back door was a beach in Vancouver.
Of interest to me, especially was women alone doing this sort of thing. More U-tube videos of women doing just that, as their funds were lower than expected for retiring. One was living out of a car, her disability cheque was $800 a month. She chose to live in a car, so as to be able to eat. Rent ate up most of her disability cheque. She had torn out her passenger and back seat to be able to put a bed in. Everything was collapsible, tiny, and packed with care. There were several website dedicated to this topic, http://www.cheaprvliving.com being one of them.
SO I SLEPT ON IT. Taking my own advice, I went to sleep then I woke up and thought “this is crazy.” Option #2. Way less exciting but have to consider it. Return to the big little city, to have my eyes examined, in less than a month. Finding accommodations that let you have an ancient Golden Retriever. Found a Facebook page, dedicated to leasing apartments. Very pretty pictures of dwellings. It was difficult to gauge just how many steps there are to get in and out of these places. Lucy P ancient of Golden’s is not very good going up and down these days but then she never was, if they allow dogs at all.
THE PLAN: The safe plan is, drum roll please. Return to whence I came, find out about my medical status and camp for the summer around the Maritime provinces if all goes well with Doctors appointments. If not we head to temporary accommodations for the duration. Just for the magic, I am going with a girlfriend shopping after classes finish, to do some looking at and for camper vans.
STAY TUNED DON’T TOUCH THAT DIAL. Go to my blog site www.lindasblog.ca and subscribe to follow the tails of Lucy and myself. I have written a blog for a number of years subscribe to it if you like. I do not get your email addresses, so will not be soliciting you for money, but perhaps advice. Since my departure at the end of 2017 from the bed and breakfast publishing has been sporadic. As I settle on ideas or plans and get moving on them, I will be more faithful in this endeavor. I publish when things are usually frantic and crazy
Love to all, wish me luck. Lg & LPG
