Here we are still staggering, but undulated, to the start of the season. This is my 17th. People have children older than this. There are TWO banana breads baking in the oven for two rooms. Two seems to be the number of the day. Note: the lamenting of winter, has taken a spring forward. (with much breath holding for the rest of the hub season)
The house is has two rooms full of people. Hurray !! Three Francophone’s are here, I know, I know, it is not two, but it is a T word, my point, is they are here for a convention down the street at my competition. At any rate, appreciative they are here.
I hauled ourselves upright to start the day, tea at the ready. Lucy is still snoozing, in the single bed I just evacuated. We will have gone from 4 degrees to 19 in a matter of days. Fog not only in my mind but outside too. It is difficult to plan just what to wear as well, going from hats and mittens to shorts in the same day.
The strategy for the day ahead is, after we serve the first repast of the day, French toast, hot banana bread and frozen rhubarb breakfast is to go to have a heartier, more substantial breakfast, one with my favorite, Uncle John. And to return, home, waddling full of sugar, spice, with a side, of hopefully sausage, and pancakes into the garden. Yes indeed, one fears, into the garden we go, having purchased cosmos and other seeds in honor of Mum. Now this will be done, as per usual gardening procedures. In a hurry and with a heritage spade. Waste not want not, it is one from 1825 and Dad probably bought before I was born. I inherited it and weighs a ton. Many things in the house including, myself and the house are heritage, I hasten to add.
I have been time traveling again, I know if comes as such as surprise to my long term readers. I have found the last two 7th of the month I have had not one but two (that frisky number again) 7th. You will notice I am sure. That there has been two April and two May in a row. Every single diet I ever fell off of was because of potatoes and gravy of some sort. Dolly Parton Moi and Lucy the spaghetti loving dog.
