We’re back! What? Vociferate my dear and gentle readers. Fewest, if not all of you, did not know, that we stuffed the dog in the back of La Tomato. OFF with all of the personal property needed and more, for three days, North. Departed. Absent. Staggering to the finish line and all that. The blowing, hacking and cough still with us but lessened. Hankies not only in hand, but in every pocket and purse.

This closing month of 2016 brings raking of leaves. Prior to departure, taking advantage of the fact, as it was the second T day of the week, so as to take advantage of recycling day. I was, still sweating, blowing, honking and captivated and beguiled by the new Spring green grass growing, the summer project, underneath, while gathering their brethren. The list of life, due to last minutes, run thru at a rapid rate. Only to return to look like it appears that the trees continue in their cycle and me in mine.

The Minsters and MLA reported and confirmed they would not pay. And we continued another cycle.

Waiting until after the 11th hour on the 11th day to go and the rain to begin. We wrote notes to neighbors, family and friends and started North. Inn the rain, wipers on high, copious amounts of water, pounded down most of the trip skyward. But we had our snow tires, the cause of the cold, having had to wander about in strip malls, but were not apprehensive at all. We hit the highway, only to get turned around having forgotten the old girls water bowl and not much else I have to admit. Wending and wound our way back around the traffic circle to get it. Cold and thinking the winter was to set inn. Not to be.

Retrovaille, the joy of meeting or finding someone again after a long separation, rediscovery. LOVE, those people who wrapped me up in that word, and if I ever get organized it would be the title of the book filled with daily diatribes but I digress. While not driving, in more ways than one, and we had a work occlusion, where? At “Relax Seaside” BNB in the village of Pointe Verte, so close to the edge, we could see towns in Quebec.

We were stopped up. (In more ways than one) Then we started napped, and ate and drank, rinse and repeat. Homemade whine, their secret? Distilled water. We toured the countryside stripped of the autumn leaves, discussing water levels of the spring. We desultorily discussed being trumped and read the newspaper. Newspapers, of actual paper like of the olden days, were read. Very strong Tea was drunk, cheese and crackers consumed. Our entertainment suitcase, full of crayons, pencils and books, all were at least taken out and looked at. One page coloured.

We attended a spaghetti dinner to support the local high school, but in realty it was to get the leftovers for the pooch. Lucy is still going, hips churning like knitting needles when she walks, found a bone. Thus, required to the night before we departed in peace, to chew on it. At two a.m. I had to find boots and run thru the yard hissing at her to get home. So keyboard in hand we have a smile on ones face ready to start another season of fun and games.

The temperatures, not on the decline as is per usual. No they have rising like the super moon and the size of that moon! With highs of 14-15 degrees the temperatures, not the moon by the way. It was, to the point. that on the reverse drive we thought we had taken the wrong road. We hit the highway and realized we had forgotten our purse and back we went. Some symmetricalness in our life for a change. The further south we came, the fog lifted, the sun shone, and one could see the sea not so much on the way there.

Boot camp beckoned for the first time in weeks, away ! we went still coughing, to arrive at 100s. Push ups, squats, dead-lifts, rows, shoulder press, bicep curls, crunches, burpees, step ups, oblique crunches, planks, jumping jacks, triceps extensions all done in a team of three. The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched – they must be felt with the heart. Helen Keller. Lucy P and Moi
