I do know and acknowledge that time flies, and with it, MOI. Some of my fans called, wrote, or both demanding to know just where the diatribe has been these few weeks. Where the question was had it gone, and thus moi and my faithful companion of note, Lucy P. Three of you, and you know who you are, got me out of bed and back in the chair to type out the up-to-the-minute news here at the bed and breakfast. Highlights, of events herein and forthwith, for your consideration and to be reckoned with and included that kept me from my writing duties include: symptoms of influenza, a few guests wrapping up the crazy time of year, sauntering thru new recycling rules. (Which I have not mastered in the three weeks since its inception. There are alternative bags and weeks and colours.) Much more on that subject in further diatribes I am sure. Also La Tomato and all her travails
The weather is now colder, much wetter and more cloudy. Thus necessitating the physical transition of turning the heat on and the wearing of gloves. There there was the annual moving of the habiliment. Much time spend washing all the clothes from being stored downstairs there were clean when put away last fall. I have never been so efficient in moving clothes around. Thus a new wardrobe was found without leaving the house.
I was of the opinion to the YES side of the flu shot debate, OFF I went to get one, by gum, an appointment that night. I went after boot camp, where I kept up with the big boys 20-40 years my junior. THE question is can a flu shot kill you? The next day, feeling out of body, and not really hungry. Worriedly called a friend to go for supper. Thus begins the tale, OFF to the wrong pub, Iceberg and should have been at Igloo. I was troubled as I did not see her car in the parking lot and sat there waiting for her arrival. Which was not to happen.
The big little city, not so big, navigated across traffic and town, to her place, and noted that her car was not there. Home home jiggitty jig. To find she had called me 4 times. The forgotten phone, displayed that knowledge. I confirmed with her the name of the pub and took off to the wrong pub once more. Then got lost and disoriented when I realized where I had not gone. My dear and gentle readers must be alarmed but I assure you, I did get supper…..an hour late.
The aforementioned lovely guest arrived, an artist who sculpted for a living and had a “date” with Lucy for breakfast for three days, an hour late. My confusion continued, as I thought he was coming the next day. I had the hot water on, but told him I did not, as I had not forgotten to turn it off. After ensconcing the guest in his room, I hopped in the car late, and forgot where I was going along with no money to pay massage therapist I discovered, after having had a rub down. She was kind enough to come and pick up payment the next day as she was coming downtown for a police check, the station nearby the old bed and breakfast.
The list of life does not seem to be getting any more truncated. I have I assure you all my dear and gentle readers been crossing off lines but more like the tides keep rolling in.
OFF we went to get new tires for la Tomato at the new Patriot tire store, with a guesstimate of lots of dollars, assured it would be an hour of my times. Well three hours later, I was sitting in the waiting rooms exhausted. Lucy was not in attendance as the new store is wedged between two highways in a strip mall, and there is no where to walk her. The old store location was much kinder, it was surrounded by had many sidewalks.
The good news, were the winter tires, the tires were lower than budgeted, (who am I fooling I have never had a budge I could keep) the most excellent news was, I needed a size smaller, my only wish is it was for MOI. The astronomical news was a broken bolt, $3 to keep the wheel on, was broken. It was not in stock. It took an hour, to get that to the store. I lunched at the grocery store the last meal before the shot I might add. I must announce, the news, new runners on sale, complete with shift to the right technology were purchased at the other end of the mall Spent in more ways than one from walking the outdoor mall in the rain.
Another news item not imparted was la tomato’s insurance. And the case of the non appearing documentation. Thus necessitating being on the list and crossing several times. it had the suspense of a mystery novel. Telephone calls faxes and emails exchanged, for a document that hopefully will never be used. A cheque for the full amount, was sent and the aforementioned documentation, was only received well after the expiry date. Simular to moi, OFF we go for another day of fun and adventure, stay tuned.
