Guests of all shapes and sizes came thru the door. I went thru all motions necessary for life, with the lack of sleep to go with it of a very busy tourism summer. You all my dear and gentle readers have come along for the long and wrinkly ride, recognize what I am talking about. We ground to halt. When we were younger, less furrowed, we faced each and every problem with the thought that a diet and cross fit could change the world, everything, including world peace. (We have seen how that has worked out.)
A FRESH book just published caught my eyes a few weeks back. It would restart, reinvigorate, resume all things wrong a new way of looking at calories. Mood alteration with retail book therapy along with a NEW! diet. ( lets just add more stress to the already burning mound.) This is de-fault thinking of the worst kind. (I realized weeks later, with just a minimum of sleep, that was just trying to “trump” myself. Which most women do very well at, but I digress.) Thus I pushed to the almost to end of the guests. Drunks and good guys gone. The lovely guest left at one pm, OFF to do what he does best.
Thus the ancient grizzly hoary response, to try to discipline tenseness and tension set inn. In my defense, I thought, when I was in the act of cerebration, that this one was different.
My horror scope stated “the full moon warns the consequences could be dire. You know the old saying: If you can’t say something nice then don’t say anything at all.” I continued to clean, polish, push & shove as is standard operating procedural. The outcome? I roaring in botheration, tiredness with ruminations thrown in for good measure, too. Months of operation without a break, I should not be leaving the house. After the tempest, I have been told, comes the calm. I made the managerial decision. The heeding the advise given to millions thru the newspaper. We shut her down. Yes I did, I put myself in abeyance on line for reservations for two whole days. Yep, practicing extremist radical self care. OFF to boot camp, bath and book. Sprinkled later with just a few ginger cookies. Yes I did.
This was the second S day of the week, you know the one, this is what normal people do, go about their day and do errands. I had to reorient the book back to the store. Now thinking that liposuction might be less painful for all concerned. I noticed and I don’t know how, that there were TWO sales taxes on the sales slip. I had something to be virtuous about. Then I learned something, I did. The province does not tax books, the feds do. SO I was upended in my righteousness. Wearily, On-wards !, as I say, as the dog needed food.
This has become a galactic thing to think about. How so? Inquiring minds want to know. It has been a while since they made Lucy’s pronouncement, of “weeks not months” this still sucks and has taken and still takes, considerable joy out of the air, these last 18 months. Just what size bag should be purchased given her long time diagnoses should we purchase. The debate starts. She is BTW in the cooler weather, running to the end of the driveway, enjoying her canine life, determined to GO (similar to her human) THIS WAY when we walk. For the most part I follow where she leads. Today she brings in with her dry leaves of all sorts and colors, stuck for the most part on her hind quarters as she rolled in the back yard in sheer bliss after a giant cookie. With regards to cookies, what is good for the goose is good for the golden.
OFF we went to her store, to purchase, the giant bag. The huge food bag that has on a regular basis, every six weeks, for 10 years, has been and was changed ! The type of bag and the pictures are all changed. Replacing the easily recognizable Golden with a Spaniel, for all that is holy. Too tired to cope, I had great and grave difficulty with the modifications. The attendants kept returning Lucy to me, I just kept shouting at her to get over here. Thus we returned home. Still deteriorating, into bed after having had a brisk walk down by the river and returned to the red car. Moi Lucy and a Zen Proverb
