Only two more months to the big day. The old man squeshing down the chimney, if you have one, mine is stuffed with insulation to hold in the heat, but I digress.
I was in the pharmacy to mail a letter, and lo and behold there were Advent Calender’s, priced from $15 downward. (a mixed metaphor if ever I wrote one.) All manner and sizes, none had a spiritual tone to them, except perhaps for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Their fans are constantly praying I have heard. The Habs cannot be doing worse, i read. They did not have a seasonal bite of chocolate calendar that I could see.
I started out, as it looked gray and overcast in long pants, and a heavy plastic type waterproof, then OFF we went off to my eyeball appointment in shorts and a t-shirt. I keep putting summer attire away for the winter. What was I thinking. I received a house gift of a pair of gloves in distinctive PINK to wear for dog walking, they match nothing I own. I also one night, when is was cold one night, left a scarf behind. This is to be returned when I go to the university to the movies. This a last hurrah. Rain and lots of it is forecast taking us into the dark and the cold I fear. High of 21 however it will also put out the forest fires.
Mortal preservation kicked in. If my dear and gentle readers recall, recently and that would be, yesterday we were ready to eat dinner at 3:15.Today ready to go at 10;15. Lucy’s fav spaghetti. I know now that cold cereal, is a futile thing. It seems to slip thru the system at a rapid and fatal pace. Thus we ate dinner at snack time, and it went down hill from there. We are coming off the drugs, as eating three meals a day is fine, three dinners is not
The last of the guests another older American retried couple from Ottawa, Illinois this time, here for two days to see the sights. One more this week, and a break will be had by all. Lucy was up thru the night and therefore moi trice, exhausted is just another word. It is warm enough to leave the back door open, and she is out once more. I may just live to see the tail. “I like to compare the holiday season with the way a child listens to a favorite story. The pleasureis in the familiar way the story begins, the anticipation of familiar turns it takes, the familiar moments of suspense, and the familiar climax and ending.” ― Fred Rogers Moi and Miss LP
