Here we are gliding to a stop, perhaps, not AT ALL confident, that the short but sweet tourism season door is clanking shut. Spent umpteen hours cleaning, all well documented here in the diatribe. Recently chasing reservations made thru sites, so as not to pay the commissions, and was of the opinion and reasoning I was done with that. No, I was not. I live to tell yet another tail, and to top it off my blistering fast computer reminded me, this morning, that I had one arriving but was not in the book. Quickly as I have the last full house of the season, ripped off an email asking what time they would be arriving. Only to find the correspondence from July that they did not need the room. We are off to a roaring stop.
The cancellation of the concert makes the house almost empty tonight. One guest remains behind to keep the home fires burning tonight at this writing, but she was here for a family reunion, of her step mothers sister 90th birthday. Up and at it to hike the Fundy trail. Another guest in the book for tomorrow.
I could have had the washer on at five, as I was up up and not quite away at that hour. I had a guest stay for 7 days, and it was only the day before yesterday discovered that we knew people in conman from the good old days. Worked with while a societal proletarian and had several connections, moslty fron the psych hospital in Montreal. (there is no such animal here in the big little city) and la piece de Resistance, her son was a reverse integrated student at the school I worked at. I made her yesterday coffee and rehashed old acquaintances while we waited for her sister to pick her up for the 5;40 flight to the big grapefruit and then onto the wet coast.
Not only do I offer psychopathy, as the bed and breakfast hostess, but so do offer and ongoing it seems monitoring of diabetic conditions. Another guest is purported to leave today, and in fact all rooms are going, complete empty out. Thus the parting of the boiled eggs with ketchup as I have been getting up and making for the last time, this guest has spent his time here, organizing his life, finding he is ex wife or girlfriend, and settling into his new dwelling. This guest had a quad buy pass as well as being diabetic. Holding ones breath seems to be the proper procedure. He has purchased but not put together his new domicile. He went off with anti Canadian ketchup in hand, (on sale!) as a house warming present.
Thus the fall needs a plan of attack. Mom not quite visiting here as she is a visitant up country, and then bringing a friend of the family, and then, later in the month a friend of mine who is bringing a friend of hers. The patio is still not done, windows got washed, and the list of life, somewhat accomplished. Hurricanes approaching on Weds. Perhaps I will connect the dots now, an impossibility of late.

Interesting about your guest’s son being at the reverse integration programme at the school in Montreal. Two of my step kids were there also. Such a fantastic school. I remember meeting you there during a concert. Small world.
