Well I could not do it. I could not get myself to mow the lawn. I hung out the laundry and others chores necessary to run a bed and breakfast, but lawn mowing was beyond the pale. Muttering to myself, “other people get days off,” and off I was. I laid on the bed in a sort of haze after waving good buy to a guest who very quietly stayed here for three days. You would have missed her she was so quiescent. I almost did. I had a night off, as well with only one room to do, it felt like it. But I could not get me to do anything else. It was a good thing, I have to say, that it was not recycling day, or any other day. My quest at this time of year is to rest, perhaps to sleep. Lucy is right there supporting the heck out of me.

The sun was up the breeze was nice, the rain predicted for F day not yet at hand. The list of life was motionless. No a tick mark anywhere. No major dog walk, Mom arrived back from upcountry with family friend in tow. I tore her bags out of my bothers hands as he banged it up the hardwood floor.

Boot camp was accomplished, and I am not sure how. The longest class in the world which lasted 60 minutes. We spelled. Yes the discriminate & diminutive now having led us for a solid year, she informs us, took all the things that come with a long weekend in the summer and runined it. She cut words and assigned them sit up and lunges and away we spelled, if we could remember what we were doing and how to spell it.

Back we came, to receive my mother once again, this time from the beach, and supper was thrown on the table with the participants making the gravy, fruit salad and in charge of cutting up the turkey. The refugees with whom I had not spoken for the summer came over to meet mom and had tea. The guests, a student almost graduated from Marine Biology and has the same name as my sister arrived, just before the onslaught. And the two more rooms between tea, and after supper.

Here we are for another day of fun and advneture, and will be later looking for a telescope to purchase as the big hunting store, recently opened. Then to the airport and off to dinner.
