We are up and we are at it, at the ready and waiting. Coffee, the starter of life, extraordinary it is, hot or can be cold (for some in more temperate climes assure Moi that one can and do get theirs out of a can.) is ready. The guest, she said she would be UP and at it at, seven. I knew she would not be. I am the voice of experience on these matters, that my dear and gentle readers is oh so scary thought. She had flown across the pond, the one to my immediate right, that has several time zones, arriving at eleven or later at night. She was thrown in her room with none of the proper procedures followed at all, nothing, nada. I scurried off to bed. Setting my alarm clock, I assumed she did too. I have to get up because she said she would be. But she is not. She will be, and running out the door, with out so much as a bye your leave as she is late for what ever she came for, and she is here for a couple of days.
Not and cannot hear one twirl, peep, or cheep, no running of water, no flushing nor brushing. The dog chuffed a bit but she has settled back to slumber while I ingest caffeine. We are up, whirled around the websites, writing the daily diatribe, full of insights as is customary. I am, I assure you, becoming coherent, absorbing and assimilating necessary amounts of tea, for its alkaloid properties. My dear and gentle readers question, the lucidity aspect not the caffeine, pellucidity never having been my strong point. I know and after many years of reading, my readers know it.
My dear and gentle readers, foresee discourse and expect, unimaginable insights. Other women run with the wolves, or the moon. I run with scissors, meteorically speaking, or so it seems. The plan when there is one, most days, is not. I have been this way my whole life. Beholding and bounding speedily most times, to the extremities of my life, as I know it, then usually continue in locomotion of ovals shapes. Which and then, I will pontificate about the many and varied minutia.
Experience making it less frightening, but for the most part, the themes and topics are unplanned and for the most part, unprepared for. I was an intrepid adventurer in my day, the first step off my high horse was a huge, but have learned, thru the school of hard knocks, along the way to tuck and roll. Oh how the mightily have fallen, Nowadays just enjoy being at home drinking tea from my giant mug, at three pm sitting and watching the sun filter thru the trees. The Japanese have a word for that, Komorebi.
Just not today, today all of life, here in the big little city, will be done under the cover of and in the rain. It started yesterday, and keeps going until tomorrow. My mother, wore one day in 90 degree heat, many layers of clothing, two hats, one in hand the other just in case on her head, and carried an umbrella as there was a cloud in the sky. the recent rain has not knocked out the heat. Having my mother recently in attendance, several times yesterday this writer was convinced the overcastedness was in fact cold and therefore ergo needed a jacket. Thus influenced OFF I went, in an unnecessary jacket to walk Lucy. convinced I too thought that was what was needed. To wear layers of clothes. let me assure you all, I did not. I huffed and puffed my way across the finish line for the Terry Fox run, inadvertently. The race was on, in Lucy normal walking place, down by the river. The true secret of happiness lies in taking a genuine interest in all the details of daily life. William Morris, MOI AND THE INTREPID SIDE KICK, LUCY P
