September 19th, 2017
It is beautiful these days, perfect combinations of sun, heat, fog, coolness, clouds and little if any precipitation lets say no downfalls. Here we are, still here still going. Heading into the hub season.
I took Lucy the Wonder dog to the 25th Dog Jog. The senescent girl, walked the lake. This is the same lake I “run” around. I run around, in many circles and a lot, as you my dear and gentle readers know. We did “the walk” in just about the same amount of time. It must be the super duper dog food she got for my birthday.
The news of the day, you will be pleased to know is that I returned to boot camp. I had, if you recall, had not been for the duration of the summer season. There has been since Labour day, a decrease, but not a cessation of guests thru the doors. It was moment, the instant, it was in short time, to go, or I would never, ever, go, again.
First class, leaping about, second and then a third. Chugging around the lake, o’er dales, over buildings at a single bound, you know, ladies undergarments in place, cape flapping shoes tied and all at the same time. One of the reasons, of many, I assure you, that there have not been daily diatribes, daily or have not, the reason you my readers have not heard from me is that,
I seized the day and then some. All muscles protested. My hips hurt, my eyes, my teeth. I had to use my arms to haul myself upstairs. Typing with a pencil in my teeth.
There was a social media note for me inquiring as to my health after the third, class. I imparted my painful news. The writer of that missive is the only other person older than MOI in the class. She was so sore, she thought she was having a heart attack and took a baby aspirin. She too, was “too busy” to make many classes over the summer. She and her husband went to Greece for two weeks to recover. I solder on.
In the meantime, my mother departed, replaced by another relatives came to the big little city to visit their parents. On my way, I stalled La Tomato as I had lifted off with out adjusting the seat. (I move it forward, so Lucy can use the foot well as a landing pad, which is now a computer term for website.)
We had to do lunch. However it was at a stop sign I stalled. To adjust everything I had to unbuckle and adjust. Honking behind me was an impatient little individual. Honking once again. Adjusted, and unstalled, I took off saluting her out the car window. She took it upon herself, and continued to follow me, I pulled over. Thinking she would pass me. No. Out this diminutive person hops.
She accused me of hurting her bumper. I explained to her I had stalled the car. She did not seem to understand, no matter how many times I repeated it, that to hurt her bumper, I could not have done it. What I was implying was that she would have had to accelerate into me. I stood there while she examined, her car front. Calling me mam. I looked at her nose ring, and did not remove it I am proud to say. OFF we went.
Luncheon and gossip complete with hot tea was accomplished, and return to the home fires. While crossing on a green light, a gentleman, was going thru the same intersection on a red. We DID NOT collide. But a nap was forthcoming to be sure.
The afternoon, was sunny, and guests arrived. One was a steward on our national airline carrier, retired, his brother a librarian. The first was well acquainted with a neighbor who lived just around the corner from the family of origin in the suburbs of the Paris of North America. The other woman arrived with head gear that indicated she was a survivor of treatments that left her bald.
ON TO GLORY. Boot camp AGAIN. Made it thru and watched the puppy class also in the park while doing lateral leg lifts, at the same time. Lucy attended 12 years ago. The instructor asking me as to Lucy P’s health. Home again home again. Made it to the exit of the park. The car sounding like a tank. Turns out I had been driving on a flat. The same one fixed in July.
Into the Lotto “Hey you never know!” building parking lot, one over from the nature park. Where upon I start digging thru trunk. Thru the bags left in the car for groceries, the umbrella never used for the beach, leashes also not well used the days, and underneath for the doughnut. Not edible at all. The leader of BC stops and we do this together. A gentleman by the name of Cory, stops as well and in 30 seconds has the tire off donut on and torqued.
There was still time, yes there was, making this one of the longer diatribes, to get to the Patriot Tire Store and purchase a new set of all season, ON SALE! Tires for La Tomato. I had apples for supper, Lucy getting the left over turkey from lunch. While purchasing the new purchases, the trunk won’t work, and is in fact, disconnected for some reason, and will have to be looked at just not today.
