You may think that the conclusion is near, but I know it is. Why ! cry my dear and gentle readers.

A subject that has been overlooked, all these years of writing the diatribe, came to light this morning. I have to admit I have been doing yearly, every year since the inception, of the bed and breakfast, June 2000 not just the diatribe, 2005. Is your curiosity aroused? Well stay tuned.

It came to me this morning, as we slip below the freezing mark, before to long. With fingers not only numb with cold, (it was 2 degrees when I hung out the laundry, going to a high of 12.) They are also my fingers are smooth as a baby bottom. WHY cry my dear and gentle readers, well, from cleaning products. Most days as my diligent readers know, the clean is happening.

SIZABLE, most days or small just a swish of the bowl, only to clean one must have cleaning products, it is just so much easier that way. These all come from the pharmacy down the street, the one that lets me socialize Lucy those many years ago. There are other stores, just about anywhere else in fact. I multi task, socialize the dog and it where I go to collect air miles that I am going to lose as I am not organized enough to get online before they dissipate. But I digress, as only I can do.

The aforementioned products, stacked on the shelves come in, plastic bottles, some green, with yellow tops, some white with purple tops. These are usually purchased in the spring ON SALE! Biodegradable, they say in 29 days. (We live in hope.)

So in the hurry, of the daily routine, the vessel of various colours are grabbed, sprayed, poured and spilled into sinks, toilets, and buckets. Mops and cloths, recycled from facecloths or towels are utilized. (note not paper toweling, we are if nothing else environmental sensitive) Scentless for the sensitive too, the most part unless I in my haste, the products have to supplemented over the summer, as we have run dry and then grab a floral arrangement that is dissipated over floor, cupboards, sinks and walls. Thus there are dozens of bottles thru out the cupboards in the bathroom and under the sink in the kitchen.

At the outset of yesterday, I noticed that some were light. Thus the pouring of one little bit into another little bit. Today we went full tilt, literally one into another over sinks thru out the house. Matching white bottles with purple tops, and green plastic with green plastic. We decanted, poured, dribbled and dripped, and did it again. Left some upside down to get the last of the products from one to another. Yes and then when pouring missed and messed the sinks up. We are pleased however to have “used up” seven bottles of one color or another in total over the summer.

Proper recycling was done the tops removed as they approached the blue bin at the top of the stairs. We also noticed that the toilet paper situation was deteriorating. We when having read an article on how to save money at the grocery store, recommending that one use the unit price per. I noticed that the unit price of replacement rolls was .92 per roll in the giant crane needing batches. They were left behind as we regroup as to how to replace toilet paper.

Thus we have one more load to do and no one coming until tomorrow night, almost a day off. Laughter and tears are both responses to frustration and exhaustion. I myself prefer to laugh, since there is less cleaning up to do afterward. Kurt Vonnegut Lucy and Moi
