OFF we went to school again, left earlier and watched as FOUR empty buses blew past, but not in as cold weather as the night before. Lesson learned jumped onto the boat that landed at the bus stop and jammed my way in. However while waiting met a lady who worked as a teacher in Summit school, this is a school for the disabled. Playing the name game turns out she knew the sister of a friend of mine. Small world working again syndrome.
The next lesson learned was purchasing bus tickets, which in the olden days, one could get from the driver. Now you cannot see the driver as there are too many people. Two everything is done by machine now. Learning a new machine was fun, not. People were telling me how to use it by saying such things as “its like the opus card” what ever that is. Onward we climbed, the escalators not working in either direction so I got my cardio. This is better than the 5 k walk the night before, in -25 degrees.
I leave at a particular hour, just before it is decent to eat supper, and too late for lunch. I am still disoriented as to where exactly I am, but coming up from the bowels of the earth, I spy the golden arches. I am #125-1 in line for the worst hamburger ever served. i brought an apple and briefly thought i might give it to the teacher, but was too hungry, besides it is a non credit course.
Both classes are made up of young women, all with shinny hair, and false eyelashes. Even the rebellious “Doc martin” type wore brilliant red lipstick. All the men are tall and skinny, and occasionally a beard. I dragged Gary Herbert to class, you will recall it is my new laptop, that we are learning about, constantly. Copying and pasting seem to allude moi. |there is homework, more on that i am sure.
Lucy and I are off to a meet and greet with a vet in a minute, but just wanted you all to know, that I am safe, warm and living in a construction zone. Snow removal efforts are on a street by street basis, and today is the day i dig La Tomato out of the snow bank she landed in and has stayed in for a number of days.
